Winemaker Ehren Jordan eschewed scientific academia in favor of learning the ropes hands on, including being one of the brains behind the Turley Zinfandels. He has done viticultural training in France and now aims to produce wines in the French style. The 2008 harvest levels were about half of normal, leading to more concentrated fruit.
