Pedemonte Cellars wines come from the Rutherford Appellation of the
Napa Valley. For the last 20 years, their winemakers have tended this
prestigious vineyard, meticulously selecting specific rows in separate
blocks, and then cultivating each differently to encourage the best from
each wine and to let each vintage be an
expression of the exceptional Rutherford fruit from which it derives.
The 2006 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic example of the "Rutherford dust" character
that is so easily lost with aggressive winemaking. Using fruit sourced from the beautiful Round Pond Estate vineyards, this wine is youthful ruby/deep purple color. Ripe and fruit forward on the nose.
Initial palate of tea and concentrated black cherry fruit. Cedar and
spice turn to dusty bakers chocolate on a full mid palate. Round
integrated tannins and subtle balanced vanilla and toasty oak tone that
allow ripe black cherry & berry fruit to wake over the tongue on an
impressive lingering finish with impressive balance and structure.
